Celebrating World Oceans Day with some great news! 🌎💙

We’re proud to announce that our crew took part in the FIRST EVER SeaKeepers Initiative, deploying a @sofarocean Spotter! This compact, solar-powered, surface-follower device measures surface waves and currents that ultimately can be used by other entities to improve ocean weather forecasting. The short clip shows the device deployed off the coast of Cairns, Australia, and where it’s drifting to.

The broader implications are that @sofarocean and its Spotter technology can help vessel captains, as well as those studying weather systems and climate change with real-time ocean weather forecasting.

The ocean is our playground and SuRi is passionate about protecting it! With unique access to almost every corner of the world’s oceans, it gives yachts an advantage of the potential to advance marine sciences. To continue tracking this device, visit the 🔗 in our bio.
